Mental Health Conference

On Wednesday 27th June 2018, The Nous’s convener, Lade Olugbemi spoke at the summit looking at engaging private third sector in early intervention.

Key Points
  • Early Intervention – With a strong emphasis on early prevention and its enduring pre-eminence on the policy agenda, the platform will consider the logistical and financial opportunities and obstacles that need to be addressed in dealing with mental health problems early on as possible.
  • Accessing Mental Health Services – With regional disparities in quality of delivery and collaborative work being well documented for mental health services, discussions will look at how this can be bettered through best practise and model systems, in a time of constrained financial budgets.
  • Timely delivery – As a growing priority area for the Government and service providers alike, discussions will look at what the next steps are to ensure that multiple agencies and partners are well signposted, better informed and equipped at providing swifter referrals.
